PATCO’s new weekday schedule starts Monday

South Jersey commuters, beware — there might be some slight changes coming to your PATCO schedules next week.

The transit system’s new weekday schedules start Monday. The shift includes more-frequent service for early-morning riders.

Commuters catching PATCO between 5 and 5:40 a.m. will see westbound service every 10 minutes instead of every 15. Those riding between 5:40 and 6:56 a.m. should expect westbound trains every 8 to 9 minutes instead of 10 to 12, while eastbound riders will see trains coming every 8 to 10 minutes between 5:32 and 7:21 a.m. as opposed to 10 to 15 minutes.

The eastbound 8:32 a.m. train from the 15th/16th and Locust Streets stop will arrive two minutes later starting Monday, at 8:34, while there will no longer be an 8:42 train.

Westbound trains will run every 15 minutes between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eastbound trains will run every 15 minutes from 10:32 a.m. until 2:32 p.m.

There won’t be any changes to PATCO’s “owl service,” which runs from midnight until 5 a.m., westbound service during the morning rush, service during and after the afternoon rush, or weekend service. The full timetable can be viewed on PATCO’s website.

PATCO put its last pair of refurbished train cars into service Monday, ending a $194 million project upgrading the inside of all 120 cars.
