It's official.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett announced on Friday what most already assumed: Tony Romo will not play Sunday night against the Eagles.

Instead, veteran Kyle Orton will get the start when the two NFC East rivals face off for the division title.

Romo, who led Dallas to a come-from-behind win over the Redskins in Week 16, underwent surgery and has been placed on Injured Reserve.

Orton has only attempted 15 passes in two season with the Cowboys, who have signed Jon Kitna out of retirement to serve as the backup.
