'Nova vs. Marquette in Big East tourney

In her final regular-season game, Maria Getty notched her 200th three-pointer in a 51-45 Villanova win over Big East foe Providence in women's basketball action at the Pavilion last night.

With the win, Getty (10 points) and the Wildcats (14-15, 3-13 Big East) secured a No. 15 seed in Friday's Big East Tournament and will play No. 10 Marquette at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., at 6 p.m.

No. 7 De Paul meets the winner of Villanova/Marquette in second-round play on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Against Providence (16-13, 7-9), Kyle Dougherty and Shannon Elliot scored 11 apiece to lead the Wildcats.

Chelsea Marandola led Providence with a team and game high 23 points and 11 rebounds.
