Mary Grace Canfield, 89, a veteran character actress who played handywoman Ralph Monroe on TV's Green Acres, died of lung cancer Saturday at a hospice in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Ms. Canfield appeared in a number of TV shows during a four-decade career, including General Hospital, but she was best known for her role in Green Acres, which ran from 1965 to 1971. Ralph Monroe wore painters' overalls and was forever working on the Douglas family's bedroom with her brother, Alf. - AP
