A memorial service for radio host Harrison Ridley Jr., 70, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion, 2110 Chestnut St.

Mr. Ridley, the 32-year host of The Historical Approach to the Positive Music, a jazz program on Temple University's WRTI-FM (90.1), died of complications following a stroke Thursday. He lived in West Philadelphia.

In honor of Mr. Ridley's devotion to jazz, Mayor John F. Street in 2001 proclaimed that every Feb. 28 would be Harrison Ridley Jr. Day. That day is the anniversary of his jazz show on WRTI.

Condolences may be sent to the Ridley family in care of WRTI-FM, 1509 Cecil B. Moore Ave., Third Floor, Philadelphia 19121-3410.
