N.E. Phila. man is hit and killed by car on State Road

A Northeast Philadelphia man died Friday after a car hit him about 11 p.m. while he walked across the 9200 block of State Road, police said.

The 54-year-old man, who lived about a block away, was crossing from west to east when the southbound car hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police, who were investigating, did not release the man's name because his family had not yet been notified. - Marcia Gelbart
