3-alarm fire raging in Upper Moreland

Firefighters are battling a 3-alarm blaze in Upper Moreland at what is believed to be a sheet metal plant.

Firefighters are battling a 3-alarm blaze in Upper Moreland at what is believed to be a sheet metal plant.

A Montgomery County emergency dispatcher said the building was quickly evacuated, and no injuries were reported. But due to the building's large size and industrial character, the flames were formidable.

Crews from around Montgomery and Bucks Counties responded and were still battling the blaze around 6 p.m. Monday.

The fire is on the 2300 block of Wyandotte Road in Willow Grove. The dispatcher said it was initially reported to be a sheet metal plant, but he could not confirm that the report was accurate.

The block is also home to a music store, an outdoor furniture factory, and what appear to be several auto repair facilities.
