3 held in invasion of alleged Collingswood drug house

Three Camden County residents were being held in jail last night, charged in a home invasion that targeted an alleged Collingswood drug house, authorities said.

Two men and a woman armed with knives forced their way into a home on the first block of Gorman Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Monday. One of the residents, a 61-year-old man, was bound with duct tape. Another resident was cut on his head and face as he struggled with one of the knife-wielding bandits.

The three invaders ran away. Investigators arriving at the house found a large amount of marijuana and packaging supplies, said Capt. Richard Sarlo, a Collingswood police spokesman.

Edward C. Morrison, 34, of Collingswood, was arrested in the neighborhood by a police patrol. Samuel M. Cruz, 28, and Melisa Ortiz, 24, were arrested at their homes in Camden, Sarlo said. Each is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility on $202,500 cash bail. - Sam Wood
