M.E.: Body recovered from the Delaware was that of Pamela Flores, 14, missing since last week

The Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday identified the body of a young woman recovered from the Delaware River this week in Northeast Philadelphia.

The Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday identified the body of a young woman recovered from the Delaware River this week in Northeast Philadelphia.

The body found Wednesday near the Linden Avenue boat ramp in Torresdale was that of Pamela Flores, a 14-year old Frankford High School freshman reported missing last week.

Coroner's spokesman Jeff Moran said the cause of the death was drowning and the manner of death was suicide.

Flores had not been seen since Oct. 27. Police divers had searched the for her near the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, where her backpack and cellphone were found. That location, however, is about two miles south of where the body was found.

City police said they were still investigating the death. - Mark Fazlollah
