DA: Montco man filmed, abused child for years

A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl in her Limerick Township home over a four-year period and planting a hidden camera to film the child and others in a bathroom.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said Kevin Rebbie is facing charges that include aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children, invasion of privacy and other offenses.

The investigation into Rebbie, 56, began when a 15-year-old girl discovered a hidden camera under the sink in a bathroom at her Limerick Township residence in early March, prosecutors said.

The girl told investigators she had seen Rebbie watching her for years when he believed she was asleep or while she was undressing.

She later told authorities that, from the time she was 9 until she was 13, he would enter her bedroom while she was sleeping and molest her.

Investigators discovered that he had filmed the girl and others while they were using the bathroom, including while they were showering. Rebbie uploaded the videos, captured over a three to four-year period, to his computer to view later, according to prosecutors.

Officials didn't disclose whether or how Rebbie knew the girl or her family.

When authorities seized his hard drives, they found 41 videos from the hidden camera, including 34 films that depicted unsuspecting victims showering, partially naked or using the toilet, prosecutors said.

Some of the videos showed up-close images of children's genitalia, and the camera appears to have been placed to clearly film victims while they were using the toilet or in the shower, prosecutors said.

Rebbie is being held on $500,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1.
