Video: Donnell Rawlings in brawl at Little Pete's

Comedian and actor Donnell Rawlings got in a fistfight outside Little Pete's diner in Center City Sunday morning in an apparent dispute over the tab.

Comedian and actor Donnell Rawlings got in a fistfight outside Little Pete's diner in Center City Sunday morning in an apparent dispute over the tab.

The brawl was caught on video that was first posted online by TMZ.

A Little Pete's employee told TMZ that Rawlings, 45, appeared drunk and tried to walk out on his breakfast bill.

But Rawlings, who was in Philadelphia to perform at Helium Comedy Club, denied that on Twitter Sunday night: "Walking out on a tap (sic) and leaving your bag inside is not the action of someone who's trying to skip there (sic) bill! #duh #whodoesthat"

He expanded on Instagram: "I won't (expletive) on philly because I know I every city no matter how pretty, there will be ugly people, I'm staying focused and will continue to bring laughter to my fans and most importantly going hard for my family."

Rawlings may be best known for his work on Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show but also has appeared on HBO's The Wire, MTV's Guy Code and its spinoff Guy Court and the movie Spiderman 2.

A cashier who answered the phone at Little Pete's Monday morning said he knew nothing of the incident.

The popular 24-hour diner, at 17th and Chancellor streets, likely will close soon to make way for a proposed 12-story hotel.

A police spokeswoman didn't immediately have details on the incident. TMZ reported that Rawlings eventually paid his $12 bill and still tipped $60.
