WWE Champion Daniel Bryan undergoes successful neck surgery

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan underwent successful neck surgery, according to WWE.com.

Bryan had to go under the knife in order to address a "lingering neck injury."

Dr. Joseph Maroon in Pittsburgh, Pa., performed Bryan's surgery and did a procedure known as a "cervical foraminotomy," which is done to decompress the nerve root.

According to WWE.com, there is currently no official timetable for Bryan's return to the ring. His status as WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be addressed on the next episode of Raw this coming Monday.
