Report: Former UFC fighter Matthew Riddle to participate in WWE tryout next month

Former UFC welterweight fighter Matthew Riddle will participate in a WWE tryout next month at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla., according to a report from WrestlingInc.com.

After a controversy-filled mixed martial arts career, Riddle began training to become a professional wrestler at The Monster Factory in Paulsboro, N.J. in October of 2014.

In only six months, Riddle has gone from a former mixed martial artist with no wrestling experience to working matches for The Monster Factory to now getting a chance to show what he's made of in front of the talent scouts from the WWE.

If Riddle were to be offered a developmental contract from the WWE in the future, he would join fellow Monster Factory alum Steve Kupryk, better known to NXT fans as Steve Cutler.

According to WrestlingInc, Riddle's wife Lisa, a former Louisiana State University gymnast, has been training alongside him at The Monster Factory, but reported that there was no word on whether she would be participating in the WWE tryout as well.
