Most of you probably don’t want to join 14,000 neurologists and other brain experts in scientific sessions like “Translational Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) Modeling Strategy to Support RG6042 Dose Selection in Huntington’s Disease” at this week’s meeting of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) in Philadelphia.

But the AAN hasn't forgotten you. It has created an event aimed at the general public, especially neurology patients and caregivers. On Thursday, it will offer a Brain Health Fair at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, free to those who register at its website.

The fair, which lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature talks by neurologists about specific diseases, including multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and headache. Neurologists will be available to discuss those diseases and others.

Fair goers will also get the chance to tour the BrainDome — a big, round pink tent that hosts a flashy, 10-minute film on neurological ailments and their treatments. People can also hold an “actual human brain,” get a free bike helmet (while supplies last) and tour the Capitol Health Mobile Stroke Unit.

Here’s a complete schedule. Many sessions are available in Spanish.
