For 15 years, Main Line native Mike Mayock analyzed NFL draft prospects for our readers.
But in December, he left the NFL Network to become general manager of the Oakland Raiders. Of course, he couldn’t offer his insight to our readers anymore. Who would replace him?
Meet Ben Fennell, a Drexel grad from the Poconos who worked beside Mayock for the last four drafts. He’s an Emmy Award-winning producer, editor and researcher across several media platforms: NFL Network, ESPN college football, The Athletic and the Eagles.
He’s in his first year working with NFLN’s new senior draft analyst, Daniel Jeremiah.
Fennell helped us preview the draft by looking at 12 position groups, and breaking them down with the best, riser and sleeper in each one. Take a look:
Heisman winner Kyler Murray is Fennell’s top quarterback in the draft, but don’t sleep on his sleeper: a friend of Eagles QB Carson Wentz. Read more.
Penn State’s Miles Sanders is rising on draft boards and might go in the second round. Read more of Fennell’s analysis on running backs here.
Nick Bosa is expected to go in the first five picks. Here’s the breakdown on edge rushers in the draft.
Iowa State’s Hakeem Butler is a big receiver who ran fast at the combine. Take a look at six prospects -- three with speed, three with size -- among receivers in the draft.
Could Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson be the next Rob Gronkowski? A breakdown of the tight ends.
