The Old Carbon County Jail

The old Carbon County Jail, where seven Irish coal miners were hung in 1877, is for sale and the county doesn't want it back. The jail is one of the most historically significant buildings in the state, so there's some concern that it could simply be bought and turned into commercial/housing in the town of Jim Thorpe.
