Near-perfect summer weather is on tap this weekend, with clear, sunny, skies forecast through late Sunday afternoon.

"It looks like it's gonna be a beautiful stretch," said meteorologist Bill Eberwine of the National Weather Service. "It's going to be real good."

Highs will be in the upper-80s with temperatures falling overnight Friday and Saturday into the low 70s, he said. On Sunday, temps could reach 90 degrees, but with humidity lower than we've had recently, it will still feel comfortable.

That's all excellent news for sports and music fans who can pick from dozens of events in under glorious blue skies.

The region's biggest music fest launches tonight with the WXPN Xponential Music Festival on the waterfront in Wiggins Park in Camden. There's also a big BBQ and Blues fest jumping down the Shore in North Wildwood. Click on individual buttons for the Weekend Planner's guide to a hundred additional concerts for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Greek Picnic brings African-American fraternies and sororities to Fairmount Park for its annual get together. And not to be outdone, the "French" celebrate Bastille Day Saturday in the city's Fairmount section.

Topping the sports lineup, the Phillies host the Arizona Cardinals in South Philadelphia and the Camden Riversharks battle the Somerset Patriots in the shadow of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

But that is not all. Oh, no that is not all, to quote Dr. Seuss.

The Beep Ball Classic brings visually-impaired athletes from across the nation on Saturday to play a modified version of softball in Haddonfield. When these sluggers hit the ball, it literally screams into the outfield.

Pro-wrestling returns to South Philadelphia on Sunday with Mexican-style masked bouts presented by Chikara Pro at the New Alhambra. Also Sunday, there's the Charlie Mack Memorial Basketball at Temple University which attracts national stars from both the court and the world of hip-hip.
