Taney game breaks ESPN ratings record

The Taney Dragons took part in the highest rated Little League game ever

Wednesday night’s showdown between the Taney Dragons and Las Vegas was a blowout – in the ratings.

With national sensation Mo'ne Davis on the mound, the game set a ratings record, recording a 3.4 in the overnights.

That makes it the most watched Little League World Series game in history.

Philly – Las Vegas (won by the Nevada prodigies 8 -1) put up ratings 143 per cent higher than the comparable game last year.

Prior to last night, the highest overnight rating ever in a Little League World Series game was a 2.79 for the 2009 championship between Chinese Taipei and California. And that was televised on a weekend on ABC.

Locally, the Dragons, who face an elimination match with Chicago tonight, drew a 14.9 rating, which is a record for the Philadelphia market.
