S. Jersey Marine afraid Ronda Rousey will back out of date

When South Jersey Marine Jarrod Haschet, 22, posted a video asking UFC champion Ronda Rousey, 28, to be his date to the Marine Corps Ball, he was blown away when she actually accepted. Now, though, Haschet is afraid she might back out of the date.

When South Jersey Marine Jarrod Haschet, 22, posted a video asking UFC champion Ronda Rousey, 28, to be his date to the Marine Corps Ball, he was blown away when she actually accepted. Now, though, Haschet is afraid she might back out of the date.

On Monday, fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne announced to the world he was dating Rousey, saying, "She's my woman and I am her man," on The MMA Hour Live.

Rousey then released her own statement to ESPN, saying, "It's true that Travis and I are in a relationship."

Since then, TMZ reached out to Haschet to see how he felt about Rousey's new romance. "I really hope she doesn't back out," Haschet said when he heard the news.

Despite his new apprehension, Haschet isn't crazy enough to duke it out for Rousey. Her new beau is a 6-foot-7-inch, 254-pound professional fighter after all. Instead, he chose to keep things diplomatic.

"That would be a tough fight," Haschet told TMZ. "She's a great woman with an amazing personality. I'm sure he's a great guy."

Haschet, who is based out of North Carolina's Camp Lejeune, took a chance in September when he posted a video to his Facebook page asking Rousey to accept his invitation to the Marine Corps Ball on Dec. 11.

"You are my celebrity crush," Haschet gushed. "I love everything you do and I think you're a phenomenal person." The video went viral, catching Rousey's attention.

Since her fight got moved from January to November, Rousey said, "I would go," adding that she thought Haschet was cute and he'd have to find dates for her girls. The annual Marine Corps ball at Camp Lejeune is on December 11.
