Friday, July 24 marks National Tequila Day. Local bars and restaurants honor this distilled beverage with various specials, all made with the blue agave plant.

Friday, July 24 marks National Tequila Day. Local bars and restaurants honor this distilled beverage with various cocktails and other specials. 

Raise a glass to the end of the week and this holiday at these locations.

Distrito
(3945 Chestnut St.)
Jose Garces' Mexican restaurant will serve $15 El Jimador tequila flights and a city wide special featuring a Tecate and a shot of tequila.

Sassafras
(48 S. 2nd St.)
The pub will serve Mexican Mules made with El Jimador Blanco Tequila mixed with ginger root press, lime juice, agave simple syrup and sparkling water.

Café Ynez
(2025 Washington Ave.)
Bring in your favorite bottle of tequila and mix it with the restaurant's fresh drink mixers for $10. Mixer flavors include: blood orange strawberry, watermelon mint lemonade, bloody Maria, and spicy jalapeno.

Square 1682
(121 S. 17th St., Hotel Palomar)
The modern restaurant will serve its Hot Property cocktail for $6 (normally $12)! The drink includes: espolon reposado, pressed pineapple juice, lemon, ginger, and jerk bitters.

Red Owl Tavern

Hotel Monaco's restaurant/bar will serve selected tequila cocktails for $6. 

McGillin's Olde Ale House
(1310 Drury St.)
The Irish pub will serve $5 watermelon, peach, strawberry, and house-made margaritas.

Jose Pistola's
(263 S. 15th St.)
The Mexican spot will serve pickled watermelon Margaritas.

Sancho Pistola's
(19 W. Girard Ave.)
The restaurant will celebrate National Tequila Day with palomas, a tequila-based cocktail.

Brick and Mortar
(315 N. 12th St.)
This fairly new gastropub celebrates the holiday with bottled $6 paloma cocktails and tequila pickle back shots.

Tequilas
(1602 Locust St.)
The restaurant will serve $6 specialty margaritas and discounted super premium tequila selections.

Dos Segundos
(931 N. 2nd St.)
From 4 to 6 p.m. the Spanish restaurant will offer half-priced watermelon and cucumber margaritas (pitcher or glass).
