Sunoco Welcome America! includes events major and minor spread through nine days, and doesn't just wait for Independence Day for big bangs. For instance, Philly @ the Movies - free films in appropriate locations each evening. Ben Franklin will marry Betsy Ross (real wedding of Philadelphia's premiere Franklin impersonator, marrying his fiancée, Linda Wilde, who often portrays Ross) in front of Independence Hall. And, of course, several chances to see fireworks.
Free timed tickets are available for Independence Hall, the crucible of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
Free tickets are available at the Independence Visitor Center. Independence Hall is open 365 days a year. Hours vary by season.
This place packs a large punch in a relatively small space. Most important, it played a pivotal role in American history.
