Learn everything you've ever wanted to know about fashion in the 18th Century at this symposium on clothing and textiles in early America at the Montgomery County Community College's West Campus in Bluebell, PA. Discover the history behind the three-piece suit, footwear of early Americans and even attend a workshop where you'll make an infant jacket. The convention runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 20.

Shoppers will be pleased with this: You have two opportunities to score one-of-a-kind finds and super savings this weekend. The shops, galleries, eateries and boutiques in Kennett Square are rolling out deals during the Kennett Square Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Don't worry about parking either—all the garages are free. Another major al fresco shopping experience is the return of the Franklin Flea. This time shoppers can get their vintage and antique fix at the McCall Schoolyard in Society Hill on Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is hot, dog. The Headhouse Square Shambles hosts the Annual Dog Days of Summer Hot Dog Cook-off from noon until 4 p.m. where 20 restaurants and food trucks will roast up their best wieners for patrons and judges in Society Hill.

A lineup of renowned jazz artists comes to Saunders Park in West Philadelphia to perform…and all that jazz. The Lancaster Avenue Jazz and Arts Festival is seven hours of culture, food and music starting at noon.

Have a little bit of this, a little of that at this food and wine festival, taking place at Harrah's Casino and Racetrack in Chester, PA. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the casino's patio where local eateries will share their meals and local bands will perform.

Throughout the week, hundreds of youth poets have flocked to Philadelphia to show off their spoken word performance skills. On Saturday, July 19 all the hard work comes to a head when the top four youth poetry teams will compete in the final round of the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Competition at the Annenberg Center's Zellerbach Theatre in University City at 7 p.m.

For live performances, classic rockers Yes are coming to the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA with doors at 7 p.m. The opener Syd Arthur hits the stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 19.

No guitar skills? No problem. All you need for this competition is your air guitar and killer moves. The Philadelphia qualifying round of the USA Air Guitar Championships takes place at Johnny Brenda's on Saturday, July 19. The top two scorers in a 60-second air guitar performance will move onto the next round of competition. All 21-and-over competitors and exhibitors, get to the Fishtown venue by 8 p.m.; the show starts at 9 p.m.
