#PhillyFive Things to Do: May 9, 2015
Don’t even think about staying in bed today.
Don't even think about staying in bed today.
For a marathon: This one will be easy on your legs. The Academy of Natural Sciences (1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) is throwing a movie marathon of gigantic proportions with a screening of all three Jurassic Park films starting at 10:20 a.m.
For style: Before the "Immortal Beauty: Highlights from the Robert & Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection" exhibit, featuring prized fashion treasures from the last 200 years, opens at the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery in October, see some of the exhibit's items at a behind-the-scenes event at the URBN Center (3501 Market St.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For a festival: Soak in that May air at Clark Park's (43rd St. and Chester Ave.) May Fair. Petting zoo, pony ride, bounce house, obstacle course, music, arts and crafts — those should all be words to pique your interest. Get there between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
For drinks: Craft beers are the star of the day at the Brandywine Valley Craft Brewers' Festival, running from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Iron Hill Brewery Media (30 E. State St., Media).
For nostalgia: Throw on your frilliest gown or powder blue tux and hit the dance floor at the first-ever N3RD Street Prom. An ode to the '80s, the night will feature the best of the decade's music, drinks, décor and projections. Be prompt and dress in style: Music starts at 8 p.m. at the Painted Bride Art Center (230 Vine St.).
