#PhillyFive Things to Do: May 31, 2015

Say goodbye to May.

Say goodbye to May.

For tiny trees: An artistic display of bonsai trees will be on display from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Brandywine River Museum (1 Hoffman's Mill Rd., Chadds Ford) during their annual show. Experts will be on hand to discuss the ornamental shrubs.

For furry friends: Pups and their owners can play fido-centric games from 10 a.m. until noon at Sixth Street and the Boardwalk in Ocean City, followed by an hour long walk on the boardwalk for Barks on the Boards. The afternoon rounds out with dog competitions starting at 1 p.m.

For a blast from the past: If the status of professional baseball has you feeling like it's all a bit too modern, take it back to 1864 with a vintage baseball game at Burholme Park (1400 Cottman Ave.). First pitch is at 1 p.m.

For artistic exploration: As a part of his exhibit, "One Man's Trash," Brad Maule gathered, sorted and catalogued litter found in Wissahickon Valley Park. Listen to him discuss the project's origins and process at Fairmount Water Works (640 Water Works Dr.) starting at 2 p.m. and join him for a tour of the exhibit after.

For a sweet treat: Amateur and expert bakers have crafted their best brunch-themed cupcakes and you get a chance to try them at Philabundance's Cupcake Smash, running from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Liacouras Center (1776 N. Broad St.).
