For an amphibious evening: Search for toads on this nighttime hike at the Schuylkill Center (8480 Hagy's Mill Rd.) starting at 7 p.m.

For a classical experience: Local musical ensemble VoxAmaDeus, who focus on the music of the Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods, will perform Bach's B-minor Mass at 8 p.m. at the Kimmel Center (Broad and Spruce Streets) today.

For laughs: A comedy showcase featuring performances from Joe Conklin, Steve Trevelise, Seamus Millar, Rachel Folgetto and more will begin at 8 p.m. at the Waterfront South Theatre (400 Jasper St., Camden).

For opening night: Philadelphia Artists' Collective presents "The Fair Maid of the West," an English Renaissance comedy about a feisty Elizabethan barmaid redefining the feminine roles of the era through wit, bar fights and cross-dressing. Curtains are at 8 p.m. at Broad Street Ministries (315 S. Broad St.).

For international flavor: Brazilian vocalist and cellist Dom La Nena recorded her delicate and intimate sophomore album SOYO in Lisbon, Paris and Mexico City. She brings her breezy sound to World Café Live (3025 Walnut St.) starting at 8 p.m.
