#PhillyFive Things to Do: April 18, 2015

The promise of fun is the only alarm clock you need.

The promise of fun is the only alarm clock you need.

For a competition: Girls ages five and up can submit LEGO-built designs in the Build Like A Girl LEGO Brick Challenge in conjunction with the LEGO-based "Art of the Brick" exhibit. See the entries and vote for your favorite from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Franklin Institute (222 N. 20th St.). Visitors will also use the bricks to create chemical bonds, see sharks and more.

For a pairing: Forget regular conventions, wine and baseball are the teammates of the day. Chaddsford Winery (632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford) welcomes vino and sports fans for a day of tastings (of the winery's Phillies Wine), raffles, batting cages, food and a chance to meet Gary Matthews. The day lasts from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

For couples: Grab your sweetie and head to the Market and Shops at Comcast Center (1701 JFK Blvd.) for a one-hour couples dance class, starting at 1:30 p.m. Each dancer will score a $5 voucher to the shops and a $50 gift card and free class voucher from Society Hill Dance Academy.

For standup: Danny Tanner — err, we mean Bob Saget — comes to the TLA (334 South St.) for two performances: 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. The Temple University alumnus returns to Philly for more adult-driven humor.

For a Prohibition-era party: Pretend it's 1925-ish for Fort Mifflin's (6400 Hog Island Rd.) Speakeasy party from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. You'll be treated to live music from Drew Nugent & the Midnight Society, Charleston dance lessons, drinks, buffet and more. Come dressed for the occasion — or in plainclothes. (Though how can you resist a flapper dress?)
