With New York Fashion Week still going strong, we in the City of Brotherly Love don't have to go far to get in on the action. The 10th annual Philly Fashion Week brings designer wears from around the world to the city from Monday, Feb. 16 through Saturday, Feb. 21 for a week full of stylish goings on.

Brave the arctic tundra-like temperatures and meet with fashion week designers, models and other fashionable folk at the Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park (1400 JFK Blvd.) on Monday, Feb. 16. The kickoff skate, running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., also features an outfit contest where the top three skaters in the best red-white-and-blue attire will win prizes including VIP tickets to Philadelphia Fashion Week.

The most glamorous of facial masks gets a nod at this year's Fashion Week Masquerade Ball, taking place at the National Liberty Museum (321 Chestnut St.) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Dress for the occasion and expect to see an exclusive fashion showcase. Don't forget that mask.

More than just a celebration of aesthetic choices, Wednesday, Feb. 18's event at Joan Shepp (1811 Chestnut St.) shines a light on women of substance and style at their Black History Month celebration. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., shop in the name of girl power and hear from women who make a difference not only in fashion, but beyond. Feel good about spending some green, too: 10% of sales will go toward the African American Children's Book Project, a local group that encourages positive literary habits for children.

Fashion's not just a woman's game. On Thursday, Feb. 19, men's fashions will be paraded down the runway at the Ritz Carlton (10 Avenue of the Arts) for the Luxe Men's Show.
