Local comic performances around Philadelphia in October and November

Keeping it local is never a bad thing. Throughout the rest of October into November, hometown comics host a variety of comical shows to help us get our laughs on.

Check out these humorous acts:

Kick off the weekend with some late-night laughs on Friday, Oct. 23 during Two Late with Rob Alesiani & Joe Tuzzi. This talk show performance includes a variety of sketches, monologues, surprises, and more. Seating starts at 11:55 p.m. at the Philly Improv Theater (2023 Sansom St.).

From Friday, Oct. 23 through Saturday Oct. 31, actors of the Philly Improv Theater (2023 Sansom St,) get sporadically spooky during Stay Dead! Times vary during this improvised show and can be reserved here.

Are you embarrassed of your Facebook statuses from 2007? So is everyone else. Hosted by Aaron Nevins of Good Good Comedy, Internet Is Forever encourages guests to embrace their most heinous online acts. Things take place on Sunday, Oct. 25 at PhilaMOCA (531 N. 12th St.). Doors open at 8 p.m.

Laugh in fear at Beautiful World Syndicate (1619 E. Passyunk Ave.) during a Halloween special on Thursday, Oct. 29. Comic Holly Hanulec will lead a show full of spooky, gross, and weird jokes with performances by Joe Bell and Chris O'Conner. Doors open at 8 p.m. and beer will be for sale to ease those nerves.

On Saturday, Oct. 31 kick off your Halloween night with laughs before scares during a Spooktacular comedy show at the Personal Chef (6833 Germantown Ave.). Starting at 8 p.m., dress in costume, get made fun of by comics, and enter to win prizes throughout the night.

Need some laughs on a budget? The Philly Improv Theater's (2030 Sansom St.) Super Free Sunday show invites you to save a dollar with live performances by PHIT students and their instructors. The funniness takes place Sunday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. 

On Thursday, Nov. 5, Burn it Down features a panel discussion full of comics hating on a Philly favorite, the city wide. This hilarious commentary starts at 10 p.m. and takes place at the Plays & Players Theater (1714 Delancey Place.).

Get ready for a wild ride on Saturday, Nov. 14 as Party Lines takes over the Plays & Players Theater (1714 Delancey St.) for a night of political comedy featuring songs, sketches, water-gun fights, and more! The craziness starts at 7 p.m.

Before turkey day, EJO Comedy returns to the  Broad Axe Tavern (901 W Butler Pike) on Wednesday, Nov. 25 with three live acts by Bill Chiang, Julia Scott, and Vince Valentine. Doors open at 6 p.m.
