Road closures and parking considerations for Run the Bridge

This Sunday, November 2, runners will be converging on the Ben Franklin Bridge for the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge 10K and 2-mile walk. Registration opens at 6:15 a.m. with the 10K and 2-mile walk starting at 8:30 a.m. The Kids' Event will begin at Campbell's Field in Camden at 8:45 a.m.

If you are a runner or just heading out to root on family and friends, here is some important information you should keep in mind. Organizers warn that you need to be there by 7 a.m. at the latest or you will not be able to get into the Camden waterfront area Sunday morning.

Road Closures

All the roads surrounding the bridge and the Camden waterfront (including Cooper, Delaware and Martin Luther King Blvd) will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to about 10:30-11 a.m.

The Ben Franklin Bridge will be closed starting at 7:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

For alternative routes to get around the area in the morning, use the Walt Whitman Bridge, the Betsy Ross Bridge or PATCO.

Click here for a map of the course. Runners will start on Jersey side of the Ben Franklin Bridge at toll gates, run over the bridge on westbound lanes, turn around on the Philadelphia side and then run back over the bridge on the eastbound lanes, finally heading through the streets to Campbell's Field.

Parking Considerations

Participants and spectators will be able to park for free in Lot 11 from 6:00 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Follow Cooper all the way to Delaware, turn right then left on Penn. Lot 11 will be on your left.

For an alternative route, go through light at Cooper St.  Turn left onto Market St. and follow Market St. to Delaware Avenue.  Turn right.  The next light is Cooper St., go straight through and take the first left onto Penn St.  Lot 11 will be on your left.

Additional parking will be available in the Camden County College Camden City Campus Parking Garage located on the corners of 6th and Penn Streets.

Public Transportation

Check the PATCO schedule for trains that are making stops in the area of the race.
