In a fitness rut or wanting to start exercising, but not sure how to get started? Fit Academy's free boot camp Tuesday at the back steps of the Art Museum at 6:30 p.m. is a great way to get motivated.

"I hold the free workouts because I believe that Philadelphia is a city that is entrenched by fitness trends but most people keep doing the same thing - yoga, gym routines, cross fit, barre, and spinning," explained Osayi Osunde, founder of Fit Academy. "I believe that Fit Academy is the best solution to changing up a stale workout routine and getting out of your comfort zone with a unique approach to total body fitness."

Osunde describes the workouts as high energy, music bumping, sweat dripping fun. There will be four stations with exercises like plyometrics, strength endurance and core stability, with Osunde and four Fit Academy coaches leading the exercises and offering support.

"The atmosphere is always encouraging, and everyone gets their best 'personal workout'. The workout is challenging but it is also, go at your own pace with no judgment. Just stay within the flow of the workout and your good."

"It is a dynamic, sports influenced, total body workout, targeted at building lean muscle, toning, and burning fat. During a typical Fit Academy session clients have measured their Fitbits burning anywhere between 800-1000 calories in an hour long workout!" he added.

These free sessions only happen once a month and spots are limited so make sure you check out Fit Academy's Facebook page to learn more. After the workout, you are invited to join them at Urban Saloon on Fairmount Avenue for happy hour and networking from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Or simply sign up here.
