Bedan Karoki wins 2014 Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon

On a cool Sunday morning in Philadelphia, 22o,000 runners took to the streets as part of the 2014 Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon. Bedan Karoki of Kenya won the 13.1 mile race with an unofficial time of 59:22.

PHILADELPHIA - On a cool Sunday morning in Philadelphia, 23,000 runners took to the streets as part of the 2014 Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon.

Bedan Karoki of Kenya won the 13.1 mile race with an unofficial time of 59:22. Averaging a 4:32 minute per mile pace, Karoki beat out fellow Kenyans Cybrian Kotut and Geoffrey Bundi to take first place. At the finish line, Karoki, Kotut and Bundi said it meant a lot to them to take the top three spots the 2014 Philadelphia Rock 'n' Roll Half.

Aberu Kebede of Ethiopia, was the first woman to cross the finish line with an unofficial time of 1:08:40.

Caroline Rotich of Kenya finished second in 1:09:21, and American Deena Kastor of Mammoth Lakes, Calif. took third place in 1:09:36, setting a new women's masters world record at the age of 41.
