Despite Sixers-related rumors, Jeremy Lin reportedly headed to the Lakers
Despite rumors and reports linking Jeremy Lin to the Sixers, the Houston Rockets ended up making a deal with a different suitor.
According to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN's Jeff Goodman, the Rockets will send Jeremy Lin and a future first round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The NBA was in a holding pattern waiting for LeBron James to announce where he would continue his career. Now that LeBron has announced his intention to take his talents back to Cleveland, the rest of the free agency dominoes will begin to fall.
The Rockets, who are pursuing Miami's Chris Bosh, need to clear cap space. They have been looking to dump Lin's nearly $15 million salary for the upcoming season.
While Lin going to the Sixers would have made sense for both sides, Houston apparently found a better option in L.A.
