Nick Lowe in Phoenixville

Suave and sophisticated former pub-rocker, producer extraordinaire and master pop craftsman Nick Lowe plays in Phoenixville on Sunday night. He's touring behind Quiet Please: The New Best Of Nick Lowe, a double disc collection that came out on Yep Roc in the spring that spans from "Marie Provost" (who "was a winner who became the doggie's dinner") back in this late '70s Jesus of Cool days to his current mode as a deeply relaxed silver-haired troubadour, as exemplified by such superbly subtle and soulful nuggets as "Hope For Us All" from 2007's At My Age. At the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, he'll have former Commander Cody guitarist Bill Kirchen in tow, which should keep things from getting too mellow.
