Healthy family recipe: Fresh and crunchy tuna salad

Mix up your family's lunch routine with a fun take on the classic tuna salad sandwich. A typical serving of tuna made with regular mayonnaise may contain up to 20 grams of fat per serving! Our recipe cuts down the fat content significantly by substituting light mayonnaise and plain Greek yogurt. We added cabbage and celery for a crisp crunch that is sure to please tuna lovers of any age.
Fresh and Crunchy Tuna Salad
Ingredients:
1 can of tuna in water (5 ounces)
¼ of a green cabbage, washed and chopped
½ cup chopped celery
1 ½ tbsp. minced onion
¼ cup fat free plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon light mayonnaise
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Drain the tuna and place in a medium bowl. Break up any chunks of tuna with a fork.
2. Add the cabbage, celery, onion, yogurt, mayonnaise, and black pepper.
3. Stir the tuna salad with a spoon and mix well.
Serve with 2 slices of whole grain bread for a sandwich or whole wheat crackers (not included in nutrition facts above).
