Masterman and Fels win state chess titles

Masterman and Fels High Schools did well in the state chess championships held over the weekend in Carlisle, Pa.

Masterman won the open K-12 open championship and Fels took the title in the U-1300 section in the Pennsylvania State Scholastic Championships.

Fels' showing was a first for the Northeast Philadelphia school.
