Man questioned in violent outbreak that left police officer wounded

Police are questioning a man described as a “person of interest” in the gunfire punctuated eruption of violence outside a North Philadelphia bar that left a police officer and three men wounded.

Police are questioning a man described as a "person of interest" in the gunfire punctuated eruption of violence outside a North Philadelphia bar that left a police officer and three men wounded.

CBS3 reports the man has been arrested and charged with pointing a gun and punching an ex-girlfirend in a prelude to the gunfire at Broad and Somerset Streets early Sunday.

Police Officer Ashley Hoggard was shot in the shoulder while responding to the gunfire. He is recovering.

There is no word yet whether police plan to charge the person of interest with wounding Hoggard.
