Mud clean-up reduces eastbound Schuylkill to one lane

On the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway at the Conshohocken curve, PennDot equipment operator John Anderson of Norristown puts up a sign in preparation for the closure of the right lane of the expressway for storm cleanup.

Inquirer staff report:

Work to remove mud and storm debris from the Schuylkill Expressway got underway this morning, leaving only one lane open for eastbound traffic on Conshohocken curve.

The work in an area about 2 miles east of Exit 331B is scheduled to continue until at least 2 p.m and will resume again tomorrow morning.

Motorists should expect delays throught he work zone or plan alternate routes.

The mud spilled onto the highway during Sunday’s torrential thunderstorms, closing it for hours.
