NBC cancels ‘A to Z’ and ‘Bad Judge’

Both comedies will remain on the air until they burn off the finished episodes

Trick or treat! NBC waited until late on Halloween to announce that Bad Judge and A to Z will not be with us for long. Both comedies have aired five episodes and the network said they can play out their 13 episode orders. As NBC knows better than anyone, it's tough to carve out a niche on Thursday night.

A to Z stars Cherry Hill native Cristin Milioti and Drop Dead Diva's  Ben Feldman as lovers who are temperamental opposites. This week it drew only 2.6 million viewers with a minuscule .7 rating in the 18-49 tear old age bracket.

Bad Judge stars Private Practice's Kate Walsh who is a wild, party girl — except during work hours when she's a high ranking judge in Los Angeles. Will Ferrell and his Temple=grad partner-in-comedy, Adam McKay were among the show's producers

This week Bad Judge had 4 million viewers and a .9 rating.

There will be no appeal.
