Ratings: ‘Breaking Bad’ goes out big

The final episode sets a series record

The final chapter of Breaking Bad drew 10.3 million viewers on Sunday night, the second week in a row the AMC series set a high water mark in viewers. The penultimate episode drew 6.6. million viewers.

Even more impressive, the proportion of 18-49 years olds in that audience was remarkably high. 6.7 million to be precise. That's up fully 300% in that most coveted of demographics from last season's finale and a sure sign that Breaking Bad managed to capture the zeitgeist on its way out the door.

The sound of Bad Finger's "Baby Blue" is still echoing in our ears.
