Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan led a dominating performance by the U.S. women's national team's attack in a 5-0 win over New Zealand in Cincinnati.

It was the second win in five days for the Americans over the Football Ferns, after a 3-1 victory last Friday in Commerce City, Colorado.

Lindsey Horan got the Americans off to a good start in the rematch, scoring on a header in the 36th minute.

Horan's goal came just a few minutes after she entered the game as a planned substitute for Cincinnati native Rose Lavelle. The 22-year-old playmaker has been working her way back from a hamstring injury suffered in mid-June, and showed a few flashes of the skill that has made her one of the national team's most promising prospects.

Lavelle's presence helped draw a crowd of 30,956 to Nippert Stadium, the largest ever attendance for a women's national team game played in Ohio.

Mallory Pugh doubled the Americans' lead in the 44th minute.

Pugh also finished with two assists.

Alex Morgan scored her first of two goals on the night within the first minute of the second half.

Lynn Williams added her third career national team goal just under 10 minutes later.

Morgan struck again in the 69th minute. It was her 77th international goal.

In addition to the goals, the game featured the return of midfielder Tobin Heath back from a back injury. She came in as a late sub for her first action with the national team since March.

Heath notably returned to the field for the national team before doing so for her club team, the National Women's Soccer League's Portland Thorns. The Basking Ridge, N.J., native is expected to play for the Thorns when they visit Morgan's Orlando Pride this coming Saturday (3:30 p.m., Lifetime).

There are four games left on the national team's 2017 schedule:

Oct. 19: vs. South Korea at the SuperDome, New Orleans, La. (8 p.m., Fox Sports 1)
Oct. 22: vs. South Korea at Sahlen's Stadium, WakeMed Soccer Park, Cary, N.C. (2 p.m., ESPN)
Nov. 9: vs. Canada at BC Place, Vancouver, B.C. (10 p.m., ESPN2 and Univision Deportes)
Nov. 12: vs. Canada at Avaya Stadium, San Jose, Calif. (9 p.m., Fox Sports 1)
