Union designated player and midfielder Alejandro Bedoya has been named to the U.S. national team roster for its World Cup qualifying matches. The United States will meet Honduras on March 24 in San Jose, Calif., and Panama on March 28 in Panama City.

Bedoya will report to the team after Saturday's Major League soccer game in Orlando.

He won't miss any MLS action because the Union are off next week and will not resume action until April 1 against D.C. United at RFK Stadium.

Bedoya is expected to rejoin the Union on March 29. He has 57 international caps.

The Union are 0-0-2, with ties against Vancouver and Toronto FC. Orlando (1-0) opened with a 1-0 win over visiting New York City FC on March 5 and was idle last week.
