The Union juggled their roster Tuesday before submitting it to Major League Soccer, waiving a pair of players and adding two.

Philadelphia announced the signing of midfielder Ryan Richter and goalkeeper Thorne Holder. The Union waived former Temple midfielder J.T. Noone and forward Nick Zimmerman.

A former William Tennent High and La Salle star, Richter was drafted by the Union in the 2011 MLS supplemental draft, but he did not sign a guaranteed contract.

Richter, 21, was the Atlantic Ten offensive player of the year at La Salle after leading the conference in goals (14) and points (30) last season.

Holder, 24, played college soccer at Maryland and Adelphi. He ranks second on Adelphi's career shutout list with 19 and fourth in career wins with 30. The Trinidad-born Holder was named to the all-Atlantic Soccer Conference's first team.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Zimmerman appeared in eight games for the Union, starting one. Noone did not play an MLS game for the team.

The Union open their season March 19 against the Dynamo in Houston.
