Turner gets first start of season for Sixers

Second year guard Evan Turner got his first start of the season tonight in place of Jodie Meeks as the Sixers face the Milwaukee Bucks.

It has all the feel of "Ok, son. Show me what you got."

Sixers coach Doug Collins inserted second-year swingman Evan Turner into the starting lineup for the first time this season tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks in favor of struggling starter Jodie Meeks, who has mad just 8 of his last 32 shots from three-point range.

But more than that, it appears, at least through his body language, that Turner hasn't been tha happiest camper of late. His playing time has been severely trimmed of late and he has appeared to put on a few pounds during his inactivity.

Also thrust into the starting lineup against the Bucks was rookie center Nikola Vucevic, in place of fellow rookie Lavoy Allen. Allen had started the previous 11 games for the injured Spencer Hawes. Vucevic was making his sixth start of the season.

With Turner in the lineup it allows point guard Jrue Holiday to play off the ball a little more. Collins is probably looking to try just about anything right now as his team has struggled offensively of late, scoring more than 100 points just once in the past 21 games going into tonight.

More to come.
