Report: NBA aides getting interviewed again by Sixers

Several NBA assistants are reported to be getting second interviews in bid to replace Doug Collins.

LIKE THE WAVES crashing on the beach down the shore, the 76ers' coaching searching appears endless. It was April 18 when Doug Collins announced he wouldn't be coming back for his fourth season, and since then, there have been rumors and reports and speculation as to who may become the team's eighth head coach in the past 11 seasons.

Yesterday, a report by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski said the Sixers would bring back assistant coaches Kenny Atkinson (Atlanta), Brett Brown (San Antonio), Adrian Griffin (Chicago) and Jay Larranaga (Boston) for second interviews. The report also said Portland assistant David Vanderpool might get a second sit-down.

In the meantime, Michael Curry, the associate head coach with Collins the last three seasons, is overseeing team workouts. Curry, Aaron McKie and Jeff Capel are under contract through this season. Curry coached the team in the Orlando Pro Summer League and oversaw all the workouts for the potential draft picks.

General manager Sam Hinkie has said his coaching search wouldn't be a fast one. He is holding true to his word.

Today, the NBA will release the 2013-14 schedule. The Sixers will find out whom they will be playing and when. Who will guide them is still a mystery.
