Grizzlies regroup for rally over Mavericks

ZACH RANDOLPH scored 22 points and Marc Gasol added 21 as the Memphis Grizzlies matched their largest comeback in franchise history, rallying to beat visiting Dallas, 90-84, on Wednesday night.

Quincy Pondexter finished with 12 and Austin Daye added 10, all in the first half, for Memphis, which trailed by 25 points in the second quarter but stormed back to win its eighth straight. Gasol had 12 rebounds and Randolph 10 as Memphis outrebounded Dallas, 46-34.

Shawn Marion led the Mavericks with 16 points, Elton Brand finished with 12 off the bench, and O.J. Mayo added 11, despite going 5-for-13 from the field. Dirk Nowitzki had 10 for Dallas, which dropped its third straight.

Memphis trailed 51-26 with 5:25 to go before halftime, but overtook the Mavericks in the third quarter after scoring the first 20 points of the second half while holding Dallas to five points in the quarter.

* At Washington, Brandon Knight returned from a right knee injury to score a career-high 32 points, Greg Monroe added 26 points and 11 rebounds, Jose Calderon finished with 18 assists, and the Detroit Pistons escaped with a 96-95 victory over the Wizards.

* At Orlando, John Salmons had 21 points to lead six players in double-figures and the hot-shooting Sacramento Kings cruised to a 125-101 victory over the Magic.

* At Cleveland, rookie Dion Waiters scored 23 points, Shaun Livingston added 15 and the Cavaliers overcame a horrendous start and playing without injured All-Star Kyrie Irving (knee) for the second straight game, beating the Toronto Raptors, 103-92. The Cavs made only one of their first 15 shots, but recovered and finished February at 7-5, their first winning month since March 2010, when LeBron James was still around.

* At New York, Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points, J.R. Smith hit the tiebreaking shot with 1:10 left, and the Knicks overcame Stephen Curry's NBA season-high 54 points to beat the Golden State Warriors, 109-105.

In Knicks news, new X-rays of Rasheed Wallace's left foot show a broken bone, and he is expected to miss another 8 weeks.

* At Houston, Monta Ellis sank an off-balance three-pointer just before the final buzzer to give the Milwaukee Bucks a 110-107 victory over the Rockets.

* At Oklahoma City, Russell Westbrook scored 29 points, Kevin Durant recorded his third career triple-double and the Thunder finished a perfect three-game homestand by routing the Hornets, 119-74. New Orleans played without starters Anthony Davis (shoulder) and Eric Gordon (knee).

* At Salt Lake City, Al Horford had 34 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks as the Atlanta Hawks cruised to a 102-91 win over the Utah Jazz.

* At San Antonio, Jermaine O'Neal had 22 points and 13 rebounds off the bench and Goran Dragic had 13 each of points and assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 105-101 overtime victory over the Spurs.

Noteworthy * 

Pacers center Roy Hibbert and Warriors forward David Lee were each suspended a game without pay for starting an altercation during their game that drifted into the stands. The Warriors' Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and the Pacers' Lance Stephenson were fined $35,000 each for escalating the fight.
