Heat close out series by beating Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS - Dwyane Wade didn't let injuries or suspensions ruin his closeout party.

The Heat star poured in 41 points Thursday night as Miami defeated the Indiana Pacers, 105-93, to wrap up their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series, four games to two.

Miami, the defending conference champion, will play the winner of Saturday's 76ers-Celtics Game 7 in the conference finals, beginning next week with Game 1 in Miami. The Sixers lost all four games this season to the Heat, while the Celtics were 2-1 vs. Miami.

The Heat were playing without two thirds of their starting frontcourt. Udonis Haslem sat out due to a one-game suspension and Chris Bosh missed the series with an injury.

Wade was 17 for 25 from the field, and added 10 rebounds. Wade struggled early in the series, but erupted starting in the second half of Game 4. He scored 30 in Game 4 and 28 in Game 5.

LeBron James, who scored 40 and 30 in Games 4 and 5, respectively, also had a big game for Miami, scoring 28 points on 12-for-23 shooting. He pulled down six rebounds and dished out seven assists.

David West led Indiana in scoring with 24 points.

All-NBA team. James was the leading vote-getter for the all-NBA team, while Kobe Bryant earned his 10th first-team selection, tied for second on the career list.

Bryant, a first-team pick for the seventh consecutive season, joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Bob Cousy, Michael Jordan, Bob Pettit, and Jerry West with 10 selections to the first team. Karl Malone is the leader with 11.

James, who won his third MVP award, received 118 of a possible 120 first-team votes from a panel of writers and broadcasters. Joining him on the first team were scoring champion Kevin Durant, Clippers point guard Chris Paul, and Magic center Dwight Howard.

Guards Tony Parker and Russell Westbrook were selected the second team with forwards Kevin Love and Blake Griffin and center Andrew Bynum.

Shaq says no. TNT analyst and former NBA center Shaquille O'Neal said that despite reports otherwise, he is not interested in the Orlando Magic general-manager job and will not be interviewing next week with the team for which he once starred.

"When I first heard about the vacancy for the Orlando Magic general manager position, I was clearly intrigued," O'Neal said in a statement. "I was drafted by the Magic, I have a great love for the franchise, and I have made the city of Orlando my home. Additionally, I have great admiration and respect for the DeVos [ownership] family.

"However, this is not a job I have an interest in pursuing. I feel very fortunate to be with TNT and to have the best job in sports."
