Eagles-Bears: The dozen

A dozen facts and figures about Sunday's Eagles-Bears game:

1. Both teams are in first place and both teams are riding three-game winning streaks.

2. During their three-game streak, the Eagles have outscored opponents, 112-69, and have gotten off to quick starts, outscoring opponents, 48-0, in the first quarter.

3. The Bears have the top-ranked scoring defense in the NFL, only allowing 14.6 points per game. The Eagles are second in scoring, with an average of 28.4 points per game.

4. Bears hold a 28-11-1 edge in the all-time series with the Eagles. They are meeting for the fourth consecutive season and third straight at Soldier Field. The Eagles won last year, 24-20.

5. Bears defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli was head coach of the Lions when Eagles linebacker Ernie Sims played in Detroit. Sims started all 16 games for the three seasons Marinelli was the Lions' head coach.

6. Andy Reid has dominated the NFL North. He is 15-5 in the regular season, 8-3 on the road, and 4-0 in the postseason.

7. Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has averaged 111.5 yards from scrimmage in two games against the Bears.

8. Bears coach Lovie Smith is in his seventh season and is 61-49 overall including the playoffs. His 61 wins are third most in franchise history, trailing only Hall of Famers George Halas and Mike Ditka.

9. Smith's first coaching job was at his hometown high school, Big Sandy, in Texas.

10. In one career game against the Eagles, last year's loss, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was 24-for-43 for 171 yards with one TD and one interception and a passer rating of 63.2.

11. Bears special-teams coach Dave Toub worked with Andy Reid at Missouri from 1989-91 and with Eagles assistant head coach/offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg at Missouri from 1991-93. Toub was also a part of Reid's Eagles staff from 2001-03.
