Phillies Minor League Report: Carlos Tocci gets two RBIs in Lakewood win

Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Saturday, May 16:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

Lehigh Valley held on to beat the Rochester Red Wings, 6-5, Saturday night at Frontier Field in Rochester, N.Y.

Starter Joely Rodriguez picked up his first win of the season after throwing 5 2/3 innings. He allowed three runs on nine hits and struck out five batters.

Cesar Jimenez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.

Left fielder Cody Asche went 1-for-5 with an RBI. Right fielder Domonic Brown also went 1-for-5.

First baseman Chris McGuiness went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Center fielder Jordan Danks went 2-for-4.

The IronPigs wrap up their series in Rochester on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. David Buchanan (1-0, 3.55 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lehigh Valley.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

The Fightin Phils fell, 7-5, to the Erie SeaWolves on Saturday night at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading.

Starter Jesse Biddle allowed three runs on five hits in four innings of work. Reliever Stephen Shackleford was saddled with his first loss of the season after he allowed three runs (two earned) in the ninth inning.

Center fielder Roman Quinn went 2-for-3 and is batting .333 on the season.

First baseman Brock Stassi went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Stassi is hitting .330 this year.

Reading is back in action Sunday at 1:35 p.m. against Erie. Righty Zach Eflin (2-3, 3.12 ERA) is slated to start for the Fightin Phils.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

Clearwater catcher Andrew Knapp's walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning sealed the Threshers' 4-3 victory over the Daytona Tortugas on Saturday night.

Starter Mark Leiter lasted seven innings, he allowed one run on five hits and struck out seven batters.

Ulises Joaquin earned his second win of the season after he blew his second save of the year.

Shortstop J.P. Crawford went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Knapp went 1-for-5. His RBI was his 15th of the season.

Clearwater continues its series with Daytona on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

Lakewood rallied to beat the Kannapolis Intimidators, 9-7, Saturday night at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.

Starter Chris Oliver pitched five inning and allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits. Alexis Rivero pitched 1 ⅓ innings and earned his second win of the season.

Center fielder Carlos Tocci went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.

Third baseman Damek Tomscha went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three doubles.

Lakewood is back in action Sunday at 2:05 p.m. in Kannapolis, N.C.
