Here's how the Phillies' minor league teams fared on Tuesday, April 21:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A

The IronPigs used 14 hits to defeat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 6-1, Tuesday night at PNC Field in Moosic.

Third baseman Maikel Franco went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Franco is batting .352 on the year.

Designated hitter Chris Nelson also went 2-for-5 and knocked in two runs for Lehigh Valley.

Domonic Brown struggled in his rehab start, going 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Starting pitcher Severino Gonzalez earned his first win of the season. Gonzalez went six innings, striking out three and allowing one earned run on six hits.

The IronPigs tangle with the RailRiders again Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Lefty Adam Morgan (0-1, 5.00 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lehigh Valley.

Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A

The Fightin Phils were hammered, 12-4, by the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading.

Left-hander Tom Windle struggled mightily, allowing nine runs (eight earned) in five innings on nine hits. Reading also had problems in the field, committing five errors.

Center fielder Roman Quinn went 2-for-5 with three strikeouts. Right fielder Aaron Altherr and left fielder Brian Pointer were both 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Right-hander Ben Lively (0-0, 4.50 ERA) will start for Reading Wednesday, as the Fightin Phils continue their series with Akron at 6:35 p.m.

Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced

A strong start from Brandon Leibrandt helped the Threshers get back to their wining ways Tuesday after a 3-0 victory over the Tampa Yankees at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

During seven shutout innings, Leibrandt struck out seven batters and held the Yankees to only five hits. He earned his first victory of the season as a result. Edubray Ramos earned his first save of the season after two innings where he let up only one hit.

With Leibrandt and Ramos dominating on the mound, the Threshers didn't need a bunch of run support, but received some from center fielder Aaron Brown who drove in two of Clearwater's three runs.

The Threshers and Yankees will wrap up their three-game set at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Fla. at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Clearwater's starting pitcher had yet to be announced as of this writing.

Lakewood BlueClaws – Class A

Two home runs from first baseman Rhys Hoskins helped the BlueClaws snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 8-5, at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, N.C.

Hoskins teamed with shortstop Malquin Canelo to put the BlueClaws during the third inning. Canelo led off the frame with his first homer of the season. Three batters later, Hoskins hit a solo homer of his own.

After the Grasshoppers got on the board during the bottom of the inning, the BlueClaws extended their advantage with a run during the fourth and fifth innings, which included Hoskins' second homer of the contest and his third of the season.

Hoskins finished the contest 4-for-4 with two homers and two RBI. Third baseman Derek Campbell wasn't too far behind, going 3-for-4 with a homer of his own and two RBI.

Although the BlueClaws held a commanding 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth, starting pitcher Ricardo Pinto allowed four runs, which put the Grasshoppers back in front.

Despite the tough inning, Pinto earned his first victory of the season after allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits during six innings of work.

After falling behind, the BlueClaws plated four unanswered runs to put the game away for good. Matt Hockenberry secured the victory during the final two innings for his second save of the season.

After evening up the series Tuesday, the BlueClaws will look to take it from the Grasshoppers at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Lefty Josh Taylor (0-0, 2.70 ERA) is scheduled to start for Lakewood.
