Phillies' 2014 World Series odds

It's the first week of the offseason, and the MLB speculation is already here. The hot stove is on, the theories are flying, and the odds are in.

The Phillies have 33/1 odds of winning it all next year, a number that is sure to be adjusted once the Hot Stove is giving off more than just the hissing of gas. Who knows how far and in which direction that number could go when the Phillies sign Nelson Cruz, as CBS Sports analysts predict.

Things could certainly be worse. The 33/1 odds put the Phillies on the same level as the Royals, which is a testament to the Royals' rise as much as it is to the Phillies' disintegration. The predictable bottom-dwellers, the Marlins and Astros, have 200/1 and 250/1 odds respectfully.

Much of the top five teams are simply repeat contenders, in the Dodgers (7/1), Tigers (9/1), Red Sox, Cardinals, and Nationals (all 10/1).
